Neon Autumn

We are entering the Dark Ages, my friend, but this time there were will be lots of neon, and screen savers, and street lighting.

Edward St. Aubyn, Lost For Words

I wore this stabilo themed ensemble  to a lovely dinner to celebrate my grandfather's birthday over at One Way, which is, I have to say- one of the best restaurants I have been to for so long. I was quite happy to have given the chance to attend this family affair because I am usually not invited due to the fact I might get exposed to some allergens from the food and that is a very problematic situation to be in. However, due to my insistent appeal to my mom, she finally gave in and invited me...and even if I did not necessarily get to stay in the private dining area and had to sit outside since there were a lot of things I wasn't allowed to be around... I was still happy to have been there. I guess my life is all about that lately... I prefer spending my time with my family and maintaining a close bond with them. Even if I wasn't entirely part of the entire night, I think it was nice to still grace my lolo with my presence to celebrate his birthday with love and endearment for him. After all, life's too short.

All Laced Up

If there is one fabric that I love, it would be embroidered lace. It is absolutely so intricate and delicate and of course definitely absolutely beautiful. I used to juxtapose lace with leather to make it have a somewhat tougher and edgy appeal or dress it down with a plain top to make it look more casual. However, on this day, I felt like I wanted to take a chance and commit, thus wearing an all lace on lace with tweed ensemble. As you know, I love neutrals and have been quite committed to it so here is yet another neutral look- this time in cream from top to toe. I love that I am growing up a bit more when it comes to my fashion choices. I find that I am growing to love elegant and sophisticated pieces and build an outfit from there. I think that as with most things, my fashion sense and style is also evolving and that's not a bad thing.

And all I wanted was the simple things... A simple kind of life

Less is more...so the saying goes. With all the new minimalist take on fashion- one cannot help but beg the question: are we replacing fake clarity with real confusion? Of course, the "normcore" trend has been interpreted as a reaction to a fashion oversaturation resulting from ever faster-changing fashion trends. I do like to dress up and make myself very presentable most of the time but the norm-core trend isn't really something all too new to me because I reckon I have subconsciously been dressing that way on my "blah" days and I call it casual dressing. This outfit is an example. It is perhaps the most laid back outfit I have every posted yet. In a world where dressing laid back takes a lot of effort as it is now deemed as a fashion trend: a girl cannot help but be confused. Think about it.  However, I do believe in this: More is generally more, to contradict the cliche, but it isn't always intrinsically a good thing---if you do it all the time.

Melodies and Desires

Here I am wearing a Spanish Rose outfit as it was the styling that was fitting for this romantic lace dress that I got from the collection of e-foxcity.com. The dress was in every aspect romantic and had such ornate and delicate pieces and so I decided to go along this passionate route and play every part of a senyorita. This outfit is built on the idea of seductive Latin-Spanish references. I decided to use red accents to make the look more passionate and enticing. This is a different take on another Spanish Rose outfit I wore for Valentine's this year but I am happy to have been able to get a new chance to style something so different with a similar vibe. The good thing is that my entire ensemble was just perfect to shoot amidst the backdrop of columns and marble poles. It had a very classic, vintage and elegant vibe and that definitely went well with my outfit. I look at the photos and just go, "Wow!" because I was so in awe on how perfect the entire outfit played out. The photos were unbelievably amazing and I loved every bit of how this turned out. Isn't this outfit post just absolutely like a scene from a dream? By the way, this outfit is especially for my brother Enzo, who leaves for Barcelona soon!

Wild Things

Leopard and Lace.
(Top: Zara | Accessories: Glimmer | Pants: Fashion Galore | Shoes: So Fab! | Bag: Marc Jacobs)

"With success always follows critics. Learn how to use negativity as a form of energy for positivity. Never give up on your passions and dreams."

I will not say anymore regarding the quote posted above except that it is something I live by and wish to share to other people who have dealt with their own share of negativity and still decided to go on and do what they do. Only the marvelous!

Anyway, I decided to wear pants on a hectic Sunday out to Rockwell which was essentially a jungle that day. It was so full and stressful (especially to find parking) that day since everyone decided to go there due to the mall wide Sale. But since it is a tradition for me and my brother to spend Sundays (mass + dinner) there, we braved the crowd and survived.

My accessories are stacked up necklaces from Glimmer which compliment the leopard details of my outfit to a tee--- Wore my chain leather Stam Bag as well
.

As for my trousers, I decided to heed to the call of the wild in this pair of leopard print trousers from Jam of Fashion Galore
I've been supporting this brand since 2006 and even got to model for them once!

My makeup is a mixture of brown tones in my eyes and MAC's Creme Sheen pale lipstick so as not to overpower the already busy look with the pants.

My shoes are a contrast to the animalistic theme of the look. I know it may be weird to pair lace with leopard but somehow it worked. I love this pair of wedges (which are almost heel-less) from
So Fab! Aren't they just divine? More so, they are light to wear (not at all heavy considering its a wedge) and are VERY VERY VERY COMFORTABLE TO WEAR!
A mixture of ULTIMATE Style and Comfort!

I credit D&G's sensual call to wild collection for the inspiration to get to wear this combination.

Chase The Fear

Interlaced.
(Lace Top: Forever 21 | Tank: Mango | Jeans: Zara | Bag: Vintage Italian | Shoes: Janilyn)

Still in monochrome outfits, I decided to pair a lace long sleeved blouse with white skinny jeans and a tank top for a steady Sunday night out with my brother over at Rockwell. Been wearing my hair in a bun lately a lot as I am too lazy to style my hair (hope it's working so far)... have to let my hair down soon!

PS: How amazing is this vintage purse from Italy I inherited by my mom? The shape and size is perfect and the rings are amazing- very easy to carry and handy too!

xx, JL
