This one is going to be a quick makeup blog post. I had a shoot today and I just wanted to share my smokey eyes-hot pink lips look. I loved my hair and makeup today and I think I look quite doe-eyed.... (Yes I just noticed that now!) but anyway, people always ask me how I do my makeup...and while that is quite extensive and hard to explain (it took me years and years of observing my mom, the ultimate makeup goddess)... let me help you out with which products work best for me, especially for nights out...

IDOLEYES.
Pink contacts are LOVE!

Remember to always remove makeup before going to bed to avoid those nasty breakouts. I use Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil in the pink bottle/ Fresh (for oily skin types) to remove my makeup.

I've been getting some emails on makeup tips/ products I can recommend and these so far are top notch for me. I am sure I have so much more I can add up to the list but I shall save that for next post. I have A LOT of allergies which is why "testing" or "sampling" new brands is quite a challenge especially when I am unsure of the ingredients. So I stick to the tried and tested ones which never failed me. Hope it helped!

STAY TUNED FOR MORE! xx

I'll still be a geek after nobody thinks it's chic...

Geek. (gk) Slang n. 1. A person who has chosen concentration rather than conformity; one who passionately pursues skill (especially technical skill) and imagination, not mainstream social acceptance; 2. A person who relates academic subjects to the real world outside of academic studies; 3. A person with a devotion to something in a way that places him or her outside the mainstream. This could be due to the intensity, depth, or subject of their interest.

Geeks get things done.
Oversized cardigan- Zara TRF
Blouse- Tyler
Skirt and Tie- Zara
Shoes- Forever 21 Miu Miu inspired Platforms from Lissa
Purse- Vintage Dior

I've never been preppy but I've always been a nerd. It may not really show cause I love to dress up and buy makeup but I am probably the geekiest person most people in my circle would know. Add that with obsessive compulsive personality disorder and an ISTJ Personality archetype, and you probably get a plethora of geek related behavior. And while I do prefer National Geographic and Discovery Channel to HBO 100% of the time, I managed to balance it somehow with an equally severe fashion obsession.

I am quite happy though that "geek chic" and nerd-inspired pieces are a major 2010 trend and runway sighting the past few seasons. While trendy or not, I will remain a nerd, I guess it helps that now I can somehow combine both!
xx

Crashcourse in Polite Conversations

Blazer: Glitterati
Shoes: Soule Phenomenon
Purse: Louis Vuitton Deauville Bag
Headband: Anthology

Sundays are just awesome!
Vowing never to go laid back, I decided to be edgy on a Sunday with a unique giraffe print blazer and a leather pencil skirt. It is indeed a major deviation from the norm for in my country, Sunday is reserved for t-shirts, shorts and flats. Granted that I no longer own a pair of flats except for a few beach flip flops (I sold them all at the garage sale), I decided to walk the talk and chose my sky high Soule Phenomenon "Only the Marvelous" wedges (inspired by Sam Edelman's "ZOE" boots) and worked from there! I got to pick out something I owned from our new collection, a brown giraffe print version of the "Lissa" blazer which is one of our best sellers for the line. I am all about animal prints which is why I went crazy when I chanced upon this fabric especially since the majority of animal prints are rarely giraffe print. I especially loved the brown since I have been wanting something perfect to pair with the brown shoes I got!

Isn't the blazer just pretty? I especially adore the fact that it's complete: animal print (check), buttons (check), contrast lapel detail (check) and connector chains (check). BTW, in the name of shameless plugging, this also comes in giraffe black and white, leopard black and white and zebra black and white. All equally fabulous prints...such a hard time to decide on which one I love all the more! Haha...
