I live in a generation where everyone always is all about what the new thing is. While I think that may indeed be a good thing, since having something new always means there is development and progress, I cannot help but think that sometimes, reverting back to the old, the tried and the tested matters too. I've heard it all happen over and over again, people complain about doing the same old thing. I don't quite know when it happened exactly when the "same old thing" became synonymous with "boring" and I know that such a generalization is absolutely false. I find comfort in the classics which is probably why I find rummaging through my mom's old clothes so much fun. Case in point: this dress.

Melodies and Desires
Here I am wearing a Spanish Rose outfit as it was the styling that was fitting for this romantic lace dress that I got from the collection of e-foxcity.com. The dress was in every aspect romantic and had such ornate and delicate pieces and so I decided to go along this passionate route and play every part of a senyorita. This outfit is built on the idea of seductive Latin-Spanish references. I decided to use red accents to make the look more passionate and enticing. This is a different take on another Spanish Rose outfit I wore for Valentine's this year but I am happy to have been able to get a new chance to style something so different with a similar vibe. The good thing is that my entire ensemble was just perfect to shoot amidst the backdrop of columns and marble poles. It had a very classic, vintage and elegant vibe and that definitely went well with my outfit. I look at the photos and just go, "Wow!" because I was so in awe on how perfect the entire outfit played out. The photos were unbelievably amazing and I loved every bit of how this turned out. Isn't this outfit post just absolutely like a scene from a dream? By the way, this outfit is especially for my brother Enzo, who leaves for Barcelona soon!

Somersault in Sand With Me
Quite unsure of how to dress for the day, I decided to bring back my good old ipod game and let it decide for me, so I put it on shuffle and the first song that played was Somersault by Zero 7 featuring Sia on vocals and I knew, I had to go all out pastels and tutufied, given the first lines of the song have something to do with a ballerina. Also, I decided I needed a break from all the black dark, twisty looks as I have been referred to as "Satan in Heels" and just to prove I really am an angel in disguise, if only based on the clothes I wear, I am soooooo game on!
Anyway, the lace top from Forever21 has been long overdue on my pile of unworn items (bought it last June) and I decided to pair it with a vintage tutu skirt (I don't know where I got this, but I did dance ballet so prolly then?) and perfectly matching the outfit was my chiffon Wisteria wedges from Topshop which I still adore and love, even if it goes a season or two back.

All in all, it was quite a refresher for me but the romantic look, will make a comeback another day, when I'm feeling bipolar about my style and fashion sense! Till the next post!
xx

The Teaches of Peaches
Peaches and Cream
Dress: Topshop
Accessories: Forever 21
Shoes: Zara
Purse: Topshop
I love pastels. Despite professing that I am and always will be a studs and black rocker edgy girl, I can't help but not love being all feminine and girly.. Goth and grunge is taking the back burner for now, I guess. I notice I've been wearing more looks like these than ever. (It's probably the hair! Haha) Anyway, I wore this outfit to the second day of the Supersale Bazaar and since I decided to camp out in the no aircon zone to help my friends/ the organizers, an easy breezy eyelet baby doll dress seemed to be the perfect solution so as not to overheat under the glaring sun.
This one of my favorite dresses ever. The color is just divine and quite rare to chance upon and I think the empire cut, zipper and eyelet details make it just to easy to wear. I barely needed to accessorize (actually). Being the very impulsive shopper that I am, I decided to also get it in black, which I wore recently in this post that you can find (HERE)
Hey, if people can say "if the shoe fits, buy it in every color"...the same has to go with dresses!
Finished off the look with my two new camel/ caramel shoes and purse.

PS: The blog is titled "The Teaches of Peaches" in honor of Peaches' 2nd album back in 2000/2002. I seriously love the girl. BTW, she was responsible for that Mean Girls track, Operate, which played in the Halloween dressing up scene. I highly recommend her other songs, Rock the Shocker, Boys Wanna Be Her, I'm the Kinda etc.

Sweet Dreams (Are Made of These)
Sweet dreams are made of MIU MIU. I've said it last year and again back in Spring/Summer 2010... I dream of Miu Miu. I have been sitting, waiting, wishing for these shoes for the longest time, praying for a miracle and at some point, I stopped...and decided it was high time I did something about it.... So I ordered these online, shelled out from my savings, waited for 3 weeks and finally, my dreams have come true! I officially have my own pair of the swallow print platform Maryjanes. I know I am a season or two behind but I don't care. I just love the print so much, I had to have it. At one point, I think I ever considered doing a DIY job! Haha.

Anyway, in tribute of my new shoes.... I decided to go back to sweet and pastel tones. Just this one time since I wanted my shoes to be the happening thing of the look. So I kept everything very much subdued and low key. I basically went back to my favorite combination...pink, beige and light faded denim. I don't know what it is about these hues but they are just totally so soothing and calming to me and I guess the pink is perfect especially since it blends with my skin tone. Plumped up my lips with pink lipstick and added my favorite nerdy glasses and I was set for a long and fun day!
I was ready to face anything and everything that came my way...cause "I put my new shoes on and suddenly, everything's right!"
