Dog Days are Over

(Topshop silver ruffled satin vest, Topshop Eyelet lace skirt, Marks and Spencer star socks, Topshop laceup shoe boots)

Silver and gray toned outfit which I wore on a Wednesday Hmmmppph-day which was surprisingly made better by a frilly and ruffled satin vest (accompanied by the two best words combined ever: HALF-OFF) at Topshop's End of Season Sale. I found the entire top and skirt ensemble from the Topshop Sale at 50% off. While everyone flocked to Forever21, I remained loyal and true to my true loves, Zara and Topshop...tried, tested and never failing. These brands have stayed with me through thick and thin (literally) and I saved the frenzied Friday first sale day to visit these two brands. I did however hover to Forever21 already with my BFF Nina and so far so good. It was colossal and i was overwhelmed with everything in the store.

Back to the outfit, I found these pieces at said Topshop Private Sale and loved how perfectly they went together as I was trying them on my makeshift public dressing room. My aversion to fitting rooms fascinates some people to this day and I loved it how a college friend of mine joined me and shared the mirror as I was trying on.

I am pleased to announce the humdrum drudgery stage is officially over and the good times are here and they shall last, thus the blog title, Dog Days are Over. Good things come to those who hustle and I am just so thankful for all the good things coming our way! I wore this on an epic day me and my business partner slash BFF signed a contract for something in the works (on it development stage) but we're still keeping that on the downlow for the meantime! Headed on to wear this to a family dinner date and a fun night out with friends. It was a busy yet very productive day!

(I used MAC's Pink Noveau lipstick, Shu uemura concealer and foundation and Smashbox eye makeup for this look)

Song Inspiration: Dog Days are over by Florence and the Machine

Happiness hit her like a train on a track
Coming towards her stuck still no turning back
She hid around corners and she hid under beds
She killed it with kisses and from it she fled
With every bubble she sank with her drink
And washed it away down the kitchen sink

The dog days are over
The dog days are done
The horses are coming
So you better run

Run fast for your mother, run fast for your father
Run for your children, for your sisters and brothers
Leave all your love and your longing behind
You cant carry it with you if you want to survive

The dog days are over
The dog days are done
Can you hear the horses?
Because here they come

And I never wanted anything from you
Except everything you had and what was left after that too, oh
Happiness hit her like a bullet in the head
Struck from a great height by someone who should know better than that

The dog days are over
The dog days are done
Can you hear the horses?
Because here they come

Run fast for your mother, run fast for your father
Run for your children, for your sisters and brothers
Leave all your loving, your loving behind
You cant carry it with you if you want to survive

The dog days are over
The dog days are done
Can you hear the horses?
Because here they come

The dog days are over
The dog days are done
The horses are coming
So you better run
