Call It Magic

Last Sunday, I got the great experience of attending one of my dearest College friend's wedding. It was beautiful. I always loved weddings. Yes, I am that friend who will gush to you about how beautiful you are, willingly come forward once all the single ladies are called out to catch the bouquet and actually stay, which qualifies me as the best wedding guest ever but the allure of it will never fade for me- no matter how many weddings I attend. Add to that the fact that I was born in the wrong time period and think wearing gowns and high heels should be my default outfit and my unwavering belief that it is really beautiful to see two people who love each other and want to publicly declare it have every right. As cynical as I may portray myself to be, I still do believe in happily-ever-afters and there is nothing like a lovely wedding to bring that out. So, on that day, I decided to be appropriate and finally wear this nude gown I've had in my closet for a long time... (to those of you who don't already know, I am that girl who has two closet full of gowns for no other reason than because I love gowns and always love having a dozen I haven't already worn yet... just in case.) Thankfully, I wasn't wrong and on this absolutely marvelous night, I decided understated and elegant was the way to go. The good thing is I also actually blended impeccably with the surroundings at the reception, which was in so many ways absolutely beautiful, by the way... the way I think all receptions are because they are filled with so much love and happiness all in one location.

On Breaking Ground

Fresh starts. Put your past behind you, and start over. It is hard to resist the chance at a new beginning. A chance to put the problems of the past to bed. But who gets to determine when the old ends and the new begins? It is not a day in the calendar, not a birthday, not a new year. It is an event. Big or small. Something that changes us. Ideally, it gives us hope.

A new way of living and looking at the world- letting go of old habits, old memories. What is important is that we never stop believing we can have a new beginning. But it's also important to remember that amid all the crap are a few things really worth holding on to.

This was the outfit I wore to a very important day in my life and starting over (yet again) as I wore this to the ground breaking of my soon to be future home which I find something good to look forward to. Hopefully, like me, this represents a transition into something new, something bigger and better. This is also what makes the outfit quite monumental. It signifies a fresh start and a new beginning for me.

Some Infinities Are Bigger Than Other Infinities

“We think of infinity as a really big number, but it’s not. It’s endlessness. Endlessness is a really strange idea in a universe that is defined by its endings.”

-John Green

The title is a no-brainer actually and I have to mentally slap myself for not being more creative. However this quote does come from one of my favorite books and happens to be my favorite quote from said book. (Cue in the discussion on how obsessed I am with the concept of being "infinite" I had to tattoo that in my left wrist as a constant reminder.) Anyway, for obvious reasons, I used this title because it holds true to the post...add a few words, subtract some letters and well, it's almost perfect because in reality... some infinity (pools) are bigger than other infinity (pools). I don't know if my infinity pool is bigger or smaller than your infinity pool but since I am in one, for this moment, let's just pretend I am infinite in an infinity pool. I am rambling, I apologize. But I always loved the concept of an infinity pool that looks like it's spilling out toward the sea. It is an illusion, I know... but sometimes, illusions are good too. I remember Lauren Zimmerman once saying, "You do not exist to serve the illusion. The illusion exists to serve you," and this illusion of the infinity pool definitely served me and my wonderful "illusion serving one piece swimsuit" which I love mainly because I designed it and my design philosophy is, if it's not good enough for me to wear, I won't sell it. It's as simple as that.

Gold is always one color that makes me feel ultra-glamorous. Aside from being the "IT" color for fall (note: Gold was dubbed as the new "black"), the hue King Midas loved is a great choice on nights you just want to shine. For a glam Saturday night out, I figured, the best thing to do was to go for the gold... literally.

I wore this gold dress for Attica's VIP launch and 2nd Anniversary Party where they unveiled a bigger and better bar/club that will definitely be every nocturnelle's weekend destination. I am seriously a major bore recently and have been off the social grapevine for quite some time. My bff knew me quite well to have an inkling I was planning to ditch the night... yet again...which is why she called me the day before and ordered me to go... So I did... And it was a great way to unwind, somehow. The place was totally jam-packed and it was good to see a few familiar faces and catch up with friends. By 2 am though, I was feeling quite nostalgic for some good old Saturday R&R..So I pulled a french exit and vanished into the sea of people. *Just like that*

BFF's RULE!

Me, Meryll (Mega's Deputy Editor and Yoga Buff), Nina and Jill

The upside was that I had a change of scenery which is good every once in a while. More so, the gold hue definitely set a gold standard as my friends treated me like ROYALTY. My BFF, Nina
got me cutesy stockings from Topshop out of the blue... And one of my closest girl friends slash fellow fashionista, LISSA
surprised me and got me a pair of Forever21 black platform Maryjanes inspired by Miu Miu's Spring 2010 baby doll shoes. It was just one of the best surprise gifts ever...It was better than what I actually saw since it had a whimsical polka dot print which was just so pretty. I have been whining about those shoes since forever and was so severely disappointed when Forever21 would not sell me the pair on the mannequin when I went...The depression of not having them and wanting that pair so bad put me in a desperate situation where I actually ordered the Miu Miu ones off from Ebay.. (well, there goes my garage sale earnings!) I am getting it in 2-3 weeks (bummer!) but this lovely surprise just fast forwarded me to SHOE HEAVEN/ finding my SOLE MATE BLISS...and I actually finally get to wear them sooner than expected.

The shoes Lissa gave me.... SO PRETTY, I DIE!

PS: Lissa, if you're reading this, you're the best! I love you for this surprise, babe!
Click on to see my rather drastic transformation from total NERD to GLAMAZON. I think I can put Ugly Betty's makeover to shame! Haha!

Pretty In Pink

Carrie On. Pink and black studded accessories will always bring out your inner rocker. (Pink Sideshow coverup from Glitterati, Studded belt from Zara, Layered Dogtag Necklace from Cuteture, Mesh Booties from AmiClubWear)

SuperSale Bazaar Outfit
Day 2

For bazaars, me and my business partner slash BFF Nina man the booth as much as we can. Naturally, we wear Glitterati for such to show our support for our brand and try to market our own pieces by showing how we work them ourselves. I know what you are thinking, this is a repeat outfit from a post for last April in my Chictopia but I just loved wearing it back then and decided to give it a second go and just as fab as it was before, I felt great in it. I needed something ultra comfy and had a blast wearing it the whole day. There's something about bright pink that I love. And again, I took my cue from Carrie Bradshaw with how to style it... Check it out...I went all the way for the studs....

I brought my inner Carrie Bradshaw out by paying tribute to one of the most iconic outfits I loved from the first movie, I decided to go for the pink shift dress, black mesh ankle booties and studded belt ensemble that Carrie wore when she announced her engagement to the girls. I absolutely love NEON PINK and wish I had more outfits in this color but its quite hard to find good hot pink pieces since most retail stores are hesitant to sell the tone since its basically only for the daring. Since there is a lack of such options, I decided to make one for my brand. (I have said many times that owning your own clothing brand is a guarantee that you will never not have anything to wear!) I paired it with mesh ankle booties in true Carrie Bradshaw style and pink socks since I wanted it more coherent and matchy matchy. Added my absolute favorite necklace for the season from Cuteture which I can wear everyday, if I could. Check out the comparison photo with my version and the original...

As promised, here are a few bazaar photos of our booth....
