What Boyfriend?

No boyfriend? No problems.

I was walking around some bazaars and saw a number of statement shirts with that caption and laughed. While I am happy for all my friends who are blissfully in relationships, personally, I don't think that would work out for me... For now. As I have said multiple times, I am currently happily single and I don't think I want to change that as of the moment. It's refreshing actually to not even be dating right now because there is just no pressure, no drama, no tiffs... And I love it that way. At some point, I think I got tired of all the effort it required and all the issues involved- the main one would be my independence and refusal to inform my significant other of everything I do. I find that prerequisite taxing, actually. Probably because I am not techie or that I forget that I have to and that I seriously forget that I even have a phone in the first place...but that's always how I've been and it's so hard to change that. Trust me when I say I've tried and failed many times.

Denim Nation.
Denim Top: Bought Online (I forgot the place though)
Pants: Mango
Shoes: Bumper
Purse: YSL Muse Bag by Yves Saint Laurent
Necklace: Ruckus

I went all bipolar and wore a somewhat androgynous look, as compared to my bodycon Herve dress from the last post, since I was to hustle and work to the max this day. Nothing screams comfort than pajama-ish trousers which look classy enough to wear out and not jogging pants-baggy. I am so happy I snagged this pair from Mango on that trouser binge shopping spree I had a few months back. I like it that its 1) drawstring 2) it has gray undertones, unusual for a brown hued pc. of clothing.

Let's take a closer look:

Get the look....

I paired denim and brown since I have a major thing for the combo, it's very rustic and cowboy-ish. (For me anyway) And its such a neutral palette, a great break to all my colorful dresses. Besides, denim is after all a MAJOR 2011 Spring/Summer trend...and I am loving that it is!

Bottom line: Denim is here to stay for Spring/Summer 2011- anyway!

Cover it up (or something)

Dark and Twisty.
Knit top: Mango
Skirt: Glitterati
Necklace: Ruckus
Boots: Online (forgot where)
Purse: Cole Haan

I decided to wear a maxi skirt on a very gloomy Sunday to cover up the many bruises I now have incurred as a result of multiple falls and bumps from the last day. I think my balance is off, seriously. I got quite sick of apologizing and explaining the bruises and the bandaids so I went the smart girl route and covered them up, with a draped long maxi skirt (in brown this time) from my brand, Glitterati.

Very moody and pessimistic the day I wore this and I am guessing it kinda shows in the color palette I chose. Dark and twisty colors for a dark and twisty girl. I reckon I felt very Mary Kate Olsen meets a bag lady as I wore this outfit as it is a lot less binding than my usual short body con dresses.... a Fendi bag lady, but a bag lady nonetheless. The upside is I got to wear my new bag from my dad which is a woven leather Cole Haan purse which to this day confuses me re: its color. I've been holding a poll with our maids and drivers and so far its a 50-50 on it being gray or army green. Layered on my necklaces (I have worn this chain necklace so many times already cause my cousin made it and i love her!) hand combed my hair (no time or willpower to blowdry, curl or even brush it) and was good to go.

Please just end already, 2010!!!!!

xx

Through the queue

Fall Into This.

A take on my favorite fall 2010 trend which involves blue and camel. Ever since I saw Chloe's 2010 Fall campaign, I fell in love. It was such a refreshing comeback that camel, caramel and khaki made after the years and years of fall clothing marked by black, grays and purples. I was semi inspired by a spread I saw at the Zara store the other day while browsing and decided to incorporate the look with basic wardrobe staples I already had on my closet. It turned out quite equestrian, I think, but altogether it was a put together business casual look perfect for a day of errands and rushing back and forth to renew paperwork.

The blazer is a favorite of mine. I've worn it practically a dozen times already and I can't help but stop loving it. I rarely like blue but when I saw this about 3 years ago, I knew I had to have it and so far, I've been able to pair it with almost everything. I wore it this time with brown leather accessories and a pair of khaki brown trousers in corduroy fabric. Very different from the usual look I go for but I hope it worked!

Mood board: The Fall 2010 Trend- CAMEL
(Source:http://www.thefashionables.com/2010/03/camel-rules-the-fall-2010/)

Desert sand, khaki and camel are the bespoke colorful trends of this fashion season. The biggest designers praise the power of these trends and gave us fashion shows with neutral and exotic palette.

Italy left us speechless with the latest trends, especially at the Max Mara fashion show in Milan. The famous brand gave us requisite camel overcoats and they suddenly turn out to be the hit of the 2010 fall season.

The French best companies Hermes and Chloe were also affected by the camel trend, because their latest jackets and skirts were related to camel and all its varieties.

Calvin Klein offered a show with khaki trousers, camel coats and shirts in neutral tones. The desert sand colors, also known as safari trend, are major part of H&M fashion creation this year.

In case you want to add something really modern in your wardrobe this season, try velvet in desert sand or earth yellow.

Don’t miss out to purchase the latest camel accessories, such as belts and bags, especially impressive in the Phillip Lim latest fashion collection.
