Swimming through sick lullabies

Urban Cowgirl.
Nothing spells Western influence and rodeo more than a ruffled lacey skirt, a checkered rustic blouse and brown earthy tones.
(Blouse from British India, Skirt from a bazaar, Boots from Soule Phenomenon , Bel from Zara, Necklace from Fuddy Duddy
and Muse purse by YSL)

We may as well be transitioning into fall (aka. storm season back here in the Philippines) but I choose to live in denial with this summer’s day outfit inspired by D&G Spring Summer 2010 collection. I attached below the inspiration for the look. The cowgirl look has been one of my favorite S/S 2010 trends since it's just so refreshing and fun, a definite palette cleanser from all the glitter, sequins and metals that dominate the fashion runways for autumn. It's a return to all things easy, breezy and uncomplicated, definitely something I seriously miss when I go all out for studs and dark tones. I wore something similar to this about 2-3 months ago and I find myself coming back to it yet again despite the dark and gloomy weather. I guess a bit of bright and shiny never hurts anyone.

I wore this on a totally tiring Tuesday which involved a visit to my heart doctor and a fitting/ meeting at our store which is currently on a SOFT OPENING phase now. I love the ruffled chiffon and tulle skirt for the subtle sweetness it hints and I decided to pair it with a checkered blue and off-white blouse tied at the waist. The shirt was from when I was 11 years old which still magically fits me now... I guess I never really outgrew it. The cowboy and glam Farmville-inspired look was kep consistent by a brown studded belt which perfectly matched the focal point of my outfit: my new Sam Edelman-inspired Zoe boots from SOULE PHENOMENON which my friend and brand owner, Nicole, named after my blog, Only the Marvelous. She is the sweetest ever and I so love her for naming this pair after me since I love this design so much, I can wear it every single day. More so, it's brown which is a great break from the multitude of black shoes from my collection. I used my YSL Muse bag since it perfectly matched the brown of the shoes and bling-ed up with a drop necklace from a friend's accessory line. I kept other accessories rustic and fuss free with a brown leather studded cuff and a ring I mysteriously found amongst my jewelry . I don't know how it got there but it matched the look I was going for so I wore it anyway.

I curled my hair, kept my makeup pale and natural as much as I could and I was good to go. It was a very productive day and I had a blast in this outfit! Check out Soule Phenomenon to get your pair on this seriously marvelous pair!

Counting all different ideas, drifting away

Stud Muffin I love studs...I always have and I always will. To highlight the studs in my accessories, I chose a basic palette of gray and denim in plain prints.
(Tanktop from Topman, denim hot pants from Hong Kong, studded strappy shoes from GLAM by Glitterati, purse from Rockwell Bazaar)

I wore this to the 3rd day of the SuperSale Bazaar at the Rockwell Tent, forgive the outfit posts if they are in reverse but this topped my list out of all the 3 day outfits I had on...I guess the outfit was just perfect for a whole day bazaar. SuperSale was a massive success and I would personally like to thank everyone who came and bought from my brand! I've been wearing a skirt and a dress for the first two days so shorts were the perfect option for the last day which gave me so much freedom to move around and go through the day fuss-free.

Iron Maiden
I have a huge craving to rock 'n roll and studs are the perfect accessory to satisfy this need. Studs bring the GLAM ROCK to any outfit so pile it on and wear it to make any basic look fiercer and definitely more bad-ass. Studded shoes and bags shouldn't be skipped when organizing your Rock outfit. This look is indeed for those who would like to flaunt their sophisticated fashion attitude and charisma.

I wore a XXS Tanktop from Topman (Yes this is originally for boys) with a pair of denim hot pants. The outfit is quite basic and I needed that to be the blank canvas of my studded to the mac outfit- the focal point being the shoes and the purse. Brought on the bling with a silver and gold rhinestone and chain necklace to match the silver metallic tone. I love the fit of the tanktop even if it was originally intended for the other half of the population since it has the tough chick badass feel which isn't really that achievable with silhouettes for women's tanktops. To make the look more feminine and pretty, curled my hair and wore shockingly pink lips from Sephora cosmetics.

Do wait for more photos from the bazaar and random shots from my daily life! Off to my heart doctor's now! Till the next post!

That '70s Show

Jump for joy.
(I literally did in a floral jumpsuit from Details, cork strappy wedges from CMG, Vintage Gucci chain purse in baby blue, gold wide cinchwaist belt, gold owl earrings with turquoise from Forever21 and wooden bangles)

Florals are the ultimate go to print for when I need cheering up! The day where I mixed health and business as I wore this outfit to see my doctor for an appointment for my routine allergy checkup and then to a few errands and meetings for my brand. It was a busy as a bee day and as such, I was quite attracted to florals thus the floral jumpsuit choice.

Take a closer look...

Folklore.
Channel the early '70s by wearing a hippie jumpsuit with wooden wedges and a boho-inspired hairstyle. Create shape by adding a belt that cinches the waist.

I always love a good onesie. Jumpsuits are so comfortable to wear and is the easiest to style for those days you are just on the go and have no time to spare to fuss about what to wear. It's an all-in-one look as it solves almost every outfit dilemma (you just basically slip it on and you don't have any more decisions to make or those mix and match issues are ultimately solved... pronto!) I love this jumpsuit which I got from Details, a local retail store since it has a cute floral print wherein the buds are really tiny thus making the look more prairie and delicate...a perfect go-to print for the season. I am quite amazed I got this in blue rather than pink (yes it has a pink version) since I rarely buy clothes in that shade...if you must know, pink is my favorite color... and I think that is quite obvious based on past posts. Since the jumpsuit has the wide legged effect on the bottom area, I wore it with wedges which was inspired by '70s fashion wherein everything was flared and paired with the chunkiest shoes ever aka. wedges. Wore it with a wide waist cinching gold belt which matched the gold shoes and the gold chain of my purse (a vintage Gucci from my mom). I kept my hair neat and simple with a french braid up-do which kept the hippie flower power vibe the print and shape of the jumpsuit had.

The thing I love with jumpsuits best and how easy they are to move in... I was literally running around in it for one entire day with no hassle. It gave me more than enough space to breathe, which skinny jeans would never allow and it was just so easy and breezy... I could've jumped for joy! A great investment piece and definitely something I shall stock up on!

PS: Thank you for the sweetest and loveliest comments! Reading a nice comment always puts a smile on my face and I am very appreciative of all the love you all show! I shall reply on your posts soon (I have dedicated one whole day for that already!) since I was so busy handling our 3 day SuperSale Bazaar over the weekend and could not blog... More posts soon!
