Pretty In Pastel

I always love reverting back to pastel shades. I always thought I was an all black, leather, biker chic kind of girl but apparently, like most things in life, things change. I changed and I decided calm neutrals and pastel shades are so light and easy on the eye which is why I have always been so proud to wear these hues whenever I go out...especially during the day. The past few days, the weather has been cooperative which results in my own sunny disposition. It is always fun to go out when it is bright and sunny, considering a lot of places in the city are open-air and sunshine-friendly.

The Sweetest Thing

I have so many things to rave about this photo and this outfit. First off is how absolutely perfect the background is- the woodsy accents and the chopped up logs seem like an idyllic setting for a fairytale and in more ways than one, as I was discussing with Celyn, the vibrant backdrop almost feels like a cabin in the woods... like the one Hansel and Gretel found sans the candy covered walls...don't worry about the candy though... there will be more time for that later. Right now, can we just focus on the fact that my pastel blue and chartreuse outfit turned out to be the absolute perfect combination which made me feel like a princess in my own way and in my own fairytale. Things don't always begin with "Once upon a time..." and certainly they don't end with "Happily ever after..." and I am fine with that. If that isn't possible then perhaps dressing up like it was is the next best thing and that is exactly what I did. What did I feel when I wore this outfit: Enchanted. And sometimes, even that has got to be enough.

Pop Art Blue

(PS: It's the "nilalagnat ako" pose right there)

(followed by the "ang sakit ng ulo ko" pose below...)

"I am not offended. I thought that some people lacked a certain capacity for enjoying the uncommon, that is all. I might be down in the dumps a hundred times, but each time, I would clamber out again to good coffee on a lacquered tray beside an open fire. Luxury is not a necessity to me, but beautiful and good things are,"
-Anais Nin

Simple outfit that turned out not so simple after all for a normal weekly fam-bam din-din. I love family dinners, started off by a cup of three of coffee. I don't know what it is about family dinners that just always bring me back, maybe cause I've been deprived of actually enjoying those for a long time *hint on long list of food allergies* but now, I'm actually being a bit riskier (though not at all careless). I was kind of hesitant to purchase the leather vest at first. The one thing that drew me to it was that it was a beautiful shade of brown/beige---TAUPE? which I have always been a fan of. However, the hoodie got me all confused as I am not really a "hoodie" kind of girl. In the end, obviously, my love for the color won as I realized I had the perfect maxi dress to pair it with. I just love taupe + blue...it's so rustic and soothing to the eyes. Also, this outfit provided me with the perfect chance to wear my not so new Gold Dot wedges for the first time ever. Bonus!

Burst Generator

Coral Theory.
Dress: Zara
Necklace: Vida Jewelry
Shoes: Michael Antonio
Belt: Vintage
Purse: Gucci

I wore this to an activity filled day where I accomplished so much. There's nothing like a easy breezy dress in one of my favorite colors to run around in and do errands, comfort with style, of course. I had tons of things to do, which involved a visit to my allergy specialist, a hair appointment, fabric selection, store inventory and finally relaxing cocktails in the afternoon.

I always love pairing coral (which is the love-child of pink and red with a dash of orange). Does anything else feel quite as summery or look as divine on sun-warmed skin as coral and gold? Given the coral-gold pairing, I needed a contrast tone which was achieved by my favorite turquoise necklace which I usually always pair with this dress. I felt quite happy with my color palette that day and I got to do everything I intended to! Hope it worked!

xx
