The MANE Event: On Walking the Vitress Catwalk

I think that aside from showing your respect to people on gracing them with your presence on an event you have been invited to, dressing up appropriately plays a major role as well to show your respect. I am no stranger when it comes to etiquette and social graces... since I could remember, both my parents have exposed me in situations where proper manners were demanded. Decorum was always of utmost importance. I do know the functions of various flatware, I know to differentiate a champagne flute from a red wine glass, a white wine glass and a water goblet and I sure do know that a spiced terrine of foie gras is meant to be enjoyed in small quantities preferably with melba toast and not eaten like sandwich spread and placed whole in between a dinner roll. (Okay that was catty of me but I needed to reiterate...) But above and beyond table manners, my parents also taught me how dressing up and showing your host that you actually took time to get ready for their event and try to be on theme is one way to compliment them and also, to show them that you respect them enough to not just throw on the first thing you see in your closet and head out the door. I believe that this is something that some people take for granted but having been a hostess myself to events and dinners, trust me- it is a big deal when someone arrives appropriately dressed. It is a major compliment.

On Tears, Lies and Alibis (While Daydreaming in Pink and Blue)

I am almost always in neutral like cream, white or beige or black for court appearances. Yes, for those of you who do not know, I am going to court as I have pressed charges against someone who I thought was my friend but ended up physically assaulting me...to know the back story to all that, CLICK HERE. Anyway, I was feeling a bit colorful that day and my mood needed it since I was already getting upset by the other party's delaying tactics that I knew that this day would be no different. Apparently not.

Tribe Vibe

I love pink and if you have not heard yet- to quote Aerosmith's song Pink, "Pink is my favorite crayon" and this could not be illustrated any more than in this outfit where I am in an aztec/ tribal printed coordinates which if you remember, I wore but in a different print in a previous post which you can view HERE. I styled it differently this time and opted for woven multi-color heels and a simpler necklace rather than the chartreuse statement necklace and the sky-high fierce shoes I wore the first style of the outfit from. It was probably my last ditch effort to still feel summer as this outfit is best worn to beat the heat but as recent events (Please pray for my country, the Philippines as we recover from Typhoon Glenda) and time has proven, the monsoon season is officially here and it came in with quite a bang, and I do not mean that in a good way. Anyway, it will take another six months of waiting till sunlight and summer, but that's the thing about seasons that is constant: they change. I do hope you enjoyed the look!

Paranoid Android

Back to Basics.
(Oversized Denim Shirt: Zara | Tanktop: Zara | Sequined Skirt: Random | Shoes: US | Purse: Givenchy | Accessories: CUTETURE)

Back to my pink + black roots...this is probably the most laid back, casual and the easiest outfit ever. I will forever love mixing neon pink with black in true rocker chic style. Girly girl with an edge... And voila, I was good to go...

Holy Roller Novocaine

RADIOACTIVE.
(Blazer: Bright Pink Button Blazer from Zara | Skirt: Zara | Tanktop: Zara | Lace Chemise: Mango | Shoes: Zara |Purse: Louis Vuitton Murakami | Scarf: Hermes)

A blast from the past outfit I totally forgot to post... It's pink and orange and bright---how could I have possibly forgotten right? Suffice to say, I refuse to have this outfit buried in My Pictures album, archived and never to be seen as it is one of my favorite summer looks ever wherein I decided to play up more on the COLOR BLOCKING TREND by using neon brights in hues of pink and orange. I love neon highlighter-ish tones and this outfit is just such a bright and shiny look, it definitely made me visible and stand out from like a mile away.

I wore it to the Transformer 3 Movie screening (I'm not big on technology, I buy my gadgets based on how "cute" they look so I never related to the sci-fi flick) which I watched with a group of friends (CORE GROUP RULES)... I guess the outfit brought out the bright and shiny in me as I was quite HYPER and extremely HAPPY the whole time I wore it. Just goes to show, what you wear can totally color your mood sometimes.
