Starships....

But it is the nature of stars to cross.
The fault, is not in our stars, But in ourselves.

I got inspired in my outfit choice for the day by the book I am currently reading which is aptly titled, The Fault in Our Stars. Subconsciously, the book had such an impact on me that it affected my outfit choices and since I was already running late that day (I woke up late for a series of doctor's appointments and my weekly hospital routine checkup), I grabbed the first thing I could (by instinct) and given I had less than 30 minutes to prepare, I chose this star print top and skinny jeans, paired with studded pumps and was out the door faster than usual. I know, I know, I rarely wear jeans but I was in a denim mood that day and I thought I rather loose silk top would be the perfect top of choice to match with my super skinny pair of denim jeans (my favorite pair btw). I reckon the easiest way to come out with an outfit is to whip out your skinny jeans and rock 'em. They are always comfy, safe and chic!

Anyway, back to the book which I just finished reading, I was quite affected by it. I am again not disappointed at John Green's literary genius and this book I must say was an absolute page turner (that I could not stop reading it and was quite antisocial today as I made a proactive decision to finish it in one sitting.) I could absolutely relate with the characters and the story line and I must say, the theme of the book and the plot totally appealed and applied to me. Let me share one of my favorite lines from the novel, which goes like this--- “You don't get to choose if you get hurt in this world...but you do have some say in who hurts you. I like my choices.”  This line was a major "if only I could put what I feel into words" things to me now especially with all the special interest being given to me by people who loves to magnify and invent my flaws to an unrealistic level with absolutely NO BASIS whatsoever. The thing about getting slapped so hard when you least deserve it is you realize that you have complete control on deciding what and who will hurt you. Hurting is an essential part of human life, I realize. But when to hurt is essentially a choice you have to make. And given that I have so many things going on for me already (yes, I am physically limited and no, I am not inventing it but rather I am quite embarrassed to talk about it), I am making sure whatever will hurt me better be worth it, after all, in John Green's words, "Pain demands to be felt." I cannot stop raving about this book! Do grab a copy as it would be an absolute regret not to read this book!

Till the next post!
