Future Fashion Now to introduce first fashion event in Singapore to launch Spring/Summer

Singapore, October 2012 – Future Fashion Now (FFN) follows up its successful debut at Paris Fashion Week with another groundbreaking event: Singapore's first Spring/Summer fashion event. FFN is Asia’s first pre-order fashion portal that supports the next generation of designers. Last May, FFN launched the world’s first concept of a live-streaming fashion week where consumers can shop the runway in real time at Singapore’s biggest annual fashion event, the Audi Fashion Festival.

FFN will present a series of multi-label fashion shows on 17 October 2012 showcasing the Spring/Summer 2013 collections of 11 exceptionally acclaimed designer labels: Singapore’s Dzojchen, Elohim by Sabrina Goh, Evenodd, Mae Pang, Ong Shunmugam, and Saturday; Kuala Lumpur’s Khoon Hooi; Berlin’s Esther Perbandt and Saena; New York’s Juma; and Paris’ Jonathan Liang. The event will take place at W.E. Workshop Element, a spacious, 6,000-square-foot minimalist art space located at Wisma Atria, #03-16 to #03-49, 435 Orchard Road.

Jonathan Liang and Khoon Hooi are the latest additions to FFN’s growing stable of fashion stars. Both designers hail from Malaysia and are now making their marks in the international fashion scene.

Jonathan Liang, now based in Paris, already holds a number of industry accolades under his belt. The 24-year-old was awarded “Most Promising Designer” at Malaysian Fashion Week 2009 and bagged the “Best Collection” citation for his graduation show at Raffles Design Institute in 2010. He has also gained international exposure early in his career, having showcased his debut collection at London Fashion Week and as part of Prêt à Porter Paris, one of the most prestigious trade shows held at the fashion capital.

Khoon Hooi is known as one of the best fashion brands in Malaysia and lauded for its masterful use of drapes, meticulous attention to workmanship, and innovative tailoring and detailing. He is a graduate of the Malaysian Institute of Art and winner of numerous prestigious fashion awards, including the “Designer of the Year” at the Mercedes Benz STYLO Fashion Festival in 2010. His collections are stocked around the world, in such diverse locations as Bahrain, France, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Lebanon, Riyadh, and Tokyo.

The S/S 2013 collections will be available for pre-order on www.futurefashionnow.com from 17 October until 17 November 2012. The S/S 2013 designs from Jonathan Simkhai (New York), Suecomma Bonnie (South Korea), Timo Weiland (New York), Venna (Hong Kong), and YB J’aime by Yeojin Bae (Melbourne) will also be available on the FFN website.
