Zoo Station

I'm ready for what's next
I'm ready to duck
I'm ready to dive
I'm ready to say
I'm glad to be alive
I'm ready
I'm ready for the push

In the cool of the night
In the warmth of the breeze
I'll be crawling 'round
On my hands and knees

Just down the line - Zoo Station
Gotta make it on time - oh, Zoo Station

I'm ready
I'm ready for the gridlock
I'm ready to take it to the street
I'm ready for the shuffle
Ready for the deal
Ready to let go of the steering wheel
I'm ready
Ready for the crush

(She's just down the line)...Zoo Station
(Got to make it on time)...Zoo Station

I have been getting some comments on how I don't really write but rather just post song lyrics to fill up my blog posts. The thing is, I have always been consistent in doing this as I would like to believe music plays a major role in my style and how I dress up--- which it definitely does. Call this blog a marriage of fashion and music then... Whatever. But when it all boils down to it, if you don't like how I do my entries, then I think its best you don't load my page. It's as simple as that. Feisty, huh? But really, why complicate things when life is complicated enough? At the end of the day, we are not primitive animals and given we have hopefully what I would think is a higher cognitive function (well, with some exceptions... cue in the passive aggressive jab), we don't belong in the zoo. So maybe it would help if we start acting like we really don't and behave accordingly. It's all pretty basic and should come naturally. I reckon it just doesn't go that way for some.

An important rule I have subscribed to is to "Live large and make no apologies for who you are...as long as what you are doing does not go against your moral compass" and this applies to how I handle situations I encounter in everyday life. I am who I am and I happen to like myself... so why try to be anyone else?

As I mentioned in my last blog entry, life is tough. It's basically the wilderness with a set of rules governing people but when it all boils down to it, with the predators lurking just around the corner and the viciousness of existence and fighting for it... it really is a jungle out there. Granted that it is, I have developed quite the affinity for animal prints and I especially adore this animal print mesh leotard I got from the wonderful people from 37LA which is so far my favorite onesie. So as not to be too hubadera, (I saved that for Boracay) which was where I was headed fr a destination vacation when I wore this outfit, I layered it over my favorite glittery Nike Sports bra and fringed highwaisted Topshop shorts and get this... my new favorite pair of shoes which are my woven espadrilles from Tom's.

I shocked everyone when I purchased this pair because its not me and according to those close to me, they always thought that flat shoes for me is like a disease. But lately, especially if you have been following my IG posts, I have developed quite the affinity for it and actually ended up favoring it or the low heel over the sky highs I used to love and wear a lot. I'm growing up...or perhaps finding comfort in the strangeness of flat shoes... but so far,  I like it. So stay tuned!
