Do you know where your heart is?
Do you think you can find it?
Or did you trade it for something
Somewhere better just to have it?
Do you know where your love is?
Do you think that you lost it?
You felt it so strong, but
Nothing's turned out how you wanted

Well, bless my soul
You're a lonely soul
Cause you won't let go
Of anything you hold
Well, all I need
Is the air I breathe
And a place to rest
My head

You're doing your best and
Your best look
You're praying that you make it
Well, bless my soul
You're a lonely soul
Cause you won't let go
Of anything you hold
Do you think you can find it?
Or did you trade it for something
Somewhere better just to have it?
Do you know where your love is?
Do you think that you lost it?
You felt it so strong, but
Nothing's turned out how you wanted
Well, bless my soul
You're a lonely soul
Cause you won't let go
Of anything you hold
Well, all I need
Is the air I breathe
And a place to rest
My head
Do you know what your fate is?
And are you trying to shake it?You're doing your best and
Your best look
You're praying that you make it
Well, bless my soul
You're a lonely soul
Cause you won't let go
Of anything you hold
Perfect contentment may be one of the most important states we will ever have the opportunity to recognize in ourselves in our entire lives. I know that to be true. It's probably there - just buried a bit under the surface - and I for one, have no doubt that it's there. All we have to do is look for it, and recognize it.
Of course that's hard to say... because granted that we are in a society where the pressure to be more, of course we are always busy. Of course we feel like we are always doing too much. Of course we are always under pressure... of course we feel overwhelmed by it all at times... but later on, I realized: So What?!
Deep down we like our work, now don't we? We wouldn't be doing it if we didn't. We also thrive on the benefits we get from it. We love our friends- they are valuable and real and we never know what they are going to say or do to cheer us up.
We can learn to love our tiredness. We are tired because we have been doing a good job in life and knowing that... it feels good. We can even learn to take pleasure in feeling overwhelmed. After all, we wouldn't have so much to do unless we are good, and granted that we are, if we take it one step at a time...we can do it, now can't we?
Contentment is an active place of quietude... a busy place of stillness. We have to remember it... even vaguely. All we have left to do is dig under all that other stuff and find that place of perfect contentment that is there in each of us because of who we are and what we are doing. And when you do find it, it's the best.
Glass half empty or glass half full. You choose.
