Fools Like Me

But I did, I can , I was, I am
Only human, living, dying
Just like any fool who ever breathed
If love is blind , If love's a drug
It always is , It always was and
Love was surely made for fools like me

Top: From SuperSale Bazaar | Skirt: Glitterati | Pearls: Forever 21 | Shoes: Topshop | Bag: Marc Jacobs

Just a quick post:
When I thought of this ultra-saccharine sweet outfit, I had this particular poem in mind....

Sugar and spice
and everything nice
that's what little girls are made of

Sunshine and rainbows
and ribbons for hair bows
that's what little girls are made of

Tea parties, laces
and baby doll faces
that's what little girls are made of

.... and I guess basically that explains the look, ribbons, laces, pearls and baby doll faces... that was what it was all about.

Granted the outfit was quite all about optimism, let me gauge on the subject of happiness. As I am quite bright and shiny myself recently. Happiness, like most of the other important processes in life cannot be planned. I should know. It took me quite a while to get here. We just often come to believe that if we just had an important job, plenty of money, the right relationship, attractive and intelligent kin, or a lovely home (or insert whatever material possession here) we would be happy. I attained partly some of these goals at one point of my life, I thought I was happy. I wasn't. Because the truth is, when we attain these goals and secretly feel like something is missing or that we are not quite fulfilled, we immediately ask ourselves, as I did, "What's wrong with me?"

Even if we have done all the things that we are supposed to bring us happiness and we don't feel any better--- where have we gone wrong? We always question ourselves and believe that there is something innately wrong with us, which was somewhat something that I did. It takes a long time to stop and question the system that taught us that accumulation, excess and control are vehicles to happiness. Happiness is a gift. We cannot make it happen. It will come...and when it does, cherish it.

xx, JL
